Ragi Malt

Ragi malt is made from ragi / finger millet / kelvaragu / kooragu, which is one of the first-class millets with tons of health benefits. With ragi malt, you can savor a glass packed with the goodness of Ragi!

Ingredients

    Ragi Flour 4 tbsp
  • For salty version

    1/2 cup buttermilk/yogurt
  • Image
    1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • Image
    1/2 tsp flax seeds powder
  • Image
    1/2 tsp black salt
  • Image
    1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • Image
    1 tsp mint powder
  • Image
    Water as required
  • For sweet version

  • Image
    1/2 cup skimmed milk
  • Image
    1-2 tsp almond powder
  • Image
    1/2 tsp flax seeds powder
  • Image
    1/2-1 tsp crushed jaggery
  • Image
    1/4 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • Image
    Water as required
Method
  • Image
    In a bowl add 4 tbsp of ragi flour, add water and make a semi thin paste. (mix well).

    Now heat a pan with 2 cups water in it.
  • Image
    Once it starts to boil add ragi paste.
  • Image
    Keep stirring to avoid lumps cook for 8-10 min continue stirring.

    Add little more water to adjust consistency.
  • Image
    Once done remove from the heat.
  • For salty version

  • Image
    In a pan take the cooked ragi mixture.
  • Image
    Add Cumin powder, flax seeds powder and black pepper powder and mix well.
  • Image
    Add Buttermilk or Curd continue stirring add water to Adjust consistency as per liking.
  • Image
    Switch off the flames add mint powder on top mix and serve warm.

  • For sweet version

  • Image
    In a pan take the cooked Ragi mixture
  • Image
    Add flaxseed powder, cinnamon powder, almond powder and mix well.
  • Image
    Add skimmed milk, crushed jaggery and stir well.
  • Image
    Continue stirring adjust consistency as per liking by adding water.
  • Image
    Serve warm.
